Check Out the New Backpacker Magazine
Posted by Jim Steele on May 25th, 2008 filed in NewsCheck out the June 2008 edition of Backpacker magazine. It has a great article by Michael Lanza, who came over from Boise to spend a week exploring the Tetons.
While he was here, Michael hiked Avalanche Canyon to Cascade Canyon, the Mount Hunt – Static Peak loop, Garnet Canyon to the South Teton, and Teton Pass to Granite Canyon Trailhead. The article tells about his awesome week in the park and gives maps of his adventures, along with elevation profiles. There are plenty of ideas for summer adventures once the snow melts.
The issue also has an interesting article about using the newest technological gizmos to document and plan your hiking adventures, from cameras to GPS units to Google Earth.
I’ve seen the magazine on sale at Albertsons and Stone Drug. I’m sure it’s available at other stores too.Â

Nice job. I like the sight a lot. How about a picture or two of you on top of the Grand? How about wearing a FIB hat. Maybe you can carry your laptop and blog while on one of your hikes?
